“Just wanted to say how much we have enjoyed our Amish Factory heavy recycled plastic deck furniture. It too is heirloom quality and will last for generations of enjoyment. Really like the earth green colors we have.”
Nice work guys!

I often hear comments about how it’s strange the Amish sell furniture made from post consumer materials, but it really makes perfect sense. The Amish build high quality furniture from green friendly and sustainable materials, such as sustainably harvested hardwoods which produces furniture that lasts for generations, and can be re-worked and refinished many years later.
Just like the hardwoods, the Amish don’t make the poly vinyl material, they purchase it from suppliers who harvest and process the material for further refining. Like hardwood, poly vinyl is extremely durable and long lasting. It’s UV resistant which makes it fade proof, and is weather resistant so it never dries out or cracks.
The technical term for poly vinyl is poly vinyl ethylene, which is a material made from post-consumer bottle waste such as milk containers. This material is cleaned to a purity level of 99% HDPE (high-density polyethylne) which is compounded into solid board stock, or it’s equivalent to the wood version, lumber.
Thus, poly vinyl is just another high quality and sustainable material used to make heirloom quality furniture.
